3M™ LeadCheck™ Swabs are  a non-toxic EPA recognized instant test for lead on most surfaces. Some of the more recognized materials that 3M Leadcheck can be used on are wood, ferrous metal (alloys that contain iron), drywall and plaster, and all painted surfaces. After the swab is wiped across the prepared test area if lead is detected the swab and or surface being tested will turn pink or red depending on t how high the concentration of lead is.
